This is a typical risk and reward hole. A good drive will carry across the valley to the small area of fairway at the top leaving an easier approach shot to the green. A poor shot that didn't carry would leave a very difficult shot from the rough on a severe slope with an awkward stance. Anything left of the fairway is in trouble and has no hope of reaching the green and at worse ending up in the woods.
