Permanent Local Rules

1. OUT OF BOUNDS

A ball shall be deemed out of bounds:-

1.1 On or beyond any road, wall, fence or bank, bounding the course.

The section of wall between the 5th Green and 6th Tee is integral to the course — no relief allowed

1.2. On or beyond any line of white stakes, (Please Note: This now applies to the area between the 14th Tee and 14th Fairway), in or beyond any trench.

1.3. On the car park, the clubhouse and any surrounding paved areas.

1.4 The Greenkeepers' premises defined by a line of white stakes or a trench.

1.5. On the Practice Putting Green adjacent to the 16th Tee.

1.6. All of the non-turfed area to the left of the 16th Tee up to and around the 1st Tee.

1.7 A ball crossing a boundary and coming to rest on another part of the course is still out of bounds (holes 5 & 8, 13 / 14 & 9/ 10 / 11).

NOTE: The out of bounds line is determined by the nearest inside points of the stake or fence post at ground level excluding angled supports.


2. BOUNDARIES

Objects defining out of bounds e.g. walls, fences, stakes, notices and railings, are not obstructions and are deemed to be "fixed".


3. STAKED TREES

If a staked tree interferes with the player's stance or area of their intended swing, relief will be taken without penalty.


4. STONES

All embedded stones and rocky areas (Includes fallen stones from boundary walls) are deemed as "G.U.R".


5. BUNKERS

Any bunkers out of play due to greenkeepers' work are deemed "G.U.R.".

5.a Aritifial Bunker Faces

These are considered integral object — relief is not permitted.

6. PRACTICE GROUND

This area is defined by blue/white posts and is an integral part of the golf course.


7. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS

All course furniture and man-made or artificial paths are classified as immovable obstructions.


8. MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS

The 150yds distance posts and sighting posts and guidance ropes/posts are moveable obstructions


9. RELIEF FROM GREENSIDE SPRINKLER HEADS - Model Local Rule F5 is in effect 

Relief from Interference by an immovable obstruction may be taken under Rule.16.1

If a ball lies in the General area " and an immovable obstruction within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes with the line of play, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b


10. GROUND UNDER REPAIR

All areas marked G.U.R by white lines—including the raised garden by the 2nd green, 4th tee, 14th tee, and 14th green—are classified as Ground Under Repair. Play is prohibited and a compulsory drop must be taken.


Temporary Local Rules

1. Preferred Lies - When in play

when a players ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less the player may take free relief once. by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area.

Reference point: relief area six inches from the refernce point, no nearer the hole and must be in the general area. 


2. Aeration Holes - When Required

if a players ball lies in or touches an areation hole on the putting green, the player may take relief under rule 16.1d and place the ball on the spot nearest point of complete relief, not nearer the hole. This does not include interferance on the line of play.
