GOLF INFORMATION

At Worlebury there is no booking of tee times, but members are advised to check the diary and the board outside the changing rooms for forthcoming matches and events.

All sections hold social roll ups at different times during the week. New members are encouraged to join in, as this is an ideal way to integrate into the club.

Mens

Men’s competitions are normally held over the weekend. Competitions needing a start time are advertised on Friday evening at 8pm, on the main competitions board in the clubhouse, two weeks in advance. A mid week stableford is held each month, (April – October). There is no tee off times, just turn up and pay in the professionals shop.  The section also enters teams in the Bristol & District and Avalon leagues. In addition Stragglers (Friendly) matches are played and are an excellent way to meet members and enjoy playing at other local clubs.

If you are over 55 years you will be able to join the Seniors Section which holds competitions on Mondays. Contact the Seniors Secretary who will sign you up and introduce you to a whole new set of playing partners. The seniors also hold friendly matches with other clubs in the area.

Ladies

New members are made most welcome and ladies can play golf every day at Worlebury, though Tuesday is their special day. The tee is booked for competitions, usually from 9.30am to 12.30pm, but is flexible to accommodate work and home commitments. The ladies compete in league and social matches, which is an ideal way to play local courses. The various club mixed competitions held throughout the year are organised by the ladies.

Juniors

The junior committee will happily introduce new members to this flourishing and successful section. Junior competitions for all abilities are held during holidays, as well as matches against other sections. Entry to some adult competitions is permitted once they have attained a handicap of 18. They also compete against other clubs in the local league.

SOCIAL

Both golfing and social members are entitled to receive 15% off drinks and 10% of food as well as exclusive access to the thriving entertainment scene at the club. The social committee is very active and organises various events each month. These include themed evenings, dinner dances, BBQ’s, bingo, crib and quizzes. Events are advertised within the clubhouse and on the website notice board page. Members can also join the club’s monthly cash draw, as well as other raffles held throughout the year.

The restaurant is open for members and their guests on several nights each week with themed and special priced menus. Sunday lunches are always very popular and members are advised to book for all events, through the chef, to avoid disappointment.
